I’m Enes Ozbayoglu. I live in Ireland, take photographs, and write this blog.

Unexpected Journal is where I share my pictures and whatever I’ve been thinking about along the way. That might be a camera I’ve been using, a trip, or something completely unrelated to photography that ends up finding its way into a post.

I shoot both film and digital, using cameras including the Nikon FM3A, Nikon F3, Hasselblad 500C/M, Leica M11-P, and Fujifilm X100VI. I enjoy talking about cameras, but owning them and actually using them are sometimes very different experiences. I write about both.

A lot of my photographs come from walks around Ireland. Others are from travels or time spent with family. I don’t always go out with a story in mind. Sometimes I only work out why I took a photograph when I sit down to write about it.

Away from photography, I enjoy working with wood and making things by hand. You’ll also find that side of my life through An Mhi and my Etsy shop, SEO Artisan.

This is a personal journal, so it follows my interests rather than a fixed plan. If you enjoy photographs, the occasional camera conversation, and a few diversions along the way, I hope you’ll find something here worth spending time with.
